GUIDELINES

- Respect the guidelines of the garden at all times and ensure guests and visitors are informed of the guidelines and encouraged to follow them at all times.
- Children must be supervised at all times and should be instructed on proper garden guidelines (e.g. Avoid walking between planted rows)
- Learn the proper use and safe handling of tools/material. When in doubt – ask.
- At the end of each work session replace all tools in the specified locations.
- Have a special eye open for (un)safety factors, especially regarding children.
- Make sure you know where the first-aid kit is located.
- Ensure the Harmonizer has your emergency contact information.
- Park cars in the designated spaces outside of the garden gates leaving room for the gates to be opened
Note: Only the Focalizer’s vehicle is permitted on the garden property.
- Pets and alcohol are prohibited on the Waldorf School property
- Water from the reservoir is unsuitable for drinking. Avoid getting into eyes.
- Refrain from any unnecessary walking on (compacting) any cultivated and/or wet soil.
- Never step on a raised bed or between plants in a row format.
- When kneeling into a raised bed or row, up-lift the compacted soil afterward with a hand fork.
- Report any issue which you see/feel needs attention. Notify the Focalizer or Garden Guide
- Last one to leave the garden must ensure the shed(s) is locked.
- Garden Guides must ensure the water is turned off at the end of the work session. When no garden guide is present, members must ensure this task is completed.
- Pick up any stones larger than a walnut, from the grass areas and place in the designated container. Remove any stones larger than a golf ball from cultivated areas as they are encountered.
- Take away any personal garbage or put in designated container.
- Put designated materials ONLY on any of the various compost heaps.
- Greet any unknown visitors kindly and learn their identity and purpose for coming – inform the Focalizer, Harmonizer or Garden Guide as necessary.
